YMLRA was incorporated in 2015 as successor to Ward 8 Ratepayers for Rationale Planning Inc. (1993). The revitalization of the organization was driven by a major infill proposal by the Minto Corporation for their existing 3 tower apartment site on the north-west corner of York Mills Road and Leslie Street. This proposal involves the construction of 260 stacked back-to-back townhouses and 775 parking spaces to serve the existing apartment buildings and the added townhouses.
